New Build :D
Its a real mutt. (no,not the Calvin dog :P)
the Chip is a AMD 8 core 8350. I'm not running windows 8 Yet :(...... but at least I'm finally leaving vista.
Decided to save money and go without the solid-state drive, also only 16 gigs of ram, but left 2 slots open for future upgrade. The whole enchilada came in around $1000.00.

My House burnt down a week ago, good thing my machine was at the office. I lost a few of my current sketch-books. ~ Among other things.

Little bit of a dump. I just want to get some out. there is allot of action happening in my sketchbook and other shit. I'm really excited to see what happens in the coming months.

SLACKER ! lol Trying to get more consistency on this blog. I'm drawing quite abit in my sketch book. I like this skull study from imagination.
There is a a weekly life drawing session i have been attending as-well.  1 Min gestures.
And a initial design sketch for the "Homeland Guardian" challenge @ concept art

This is a Tooth Fish Woman, from the awkward seas of north isles near fruit town. :) They eat people mostly, but are known to consume cats and sand as-well. Not much is know about their mating habits, because the odor of the act is reminiscent  of  compost bins in the summer.

Little warmup paint on under a sketchbook doodle.

I started a new sketch book. It seems to contain only busts so far, and here a few of my favorites.
Decided to back up my entire system and install a fresh operating system.  "Sniff  Ahhhhhhh " like fresh sheets, and the computer is soooo ... perky? (insert nipples here)

Wow! 3 Weeks have passed since I posted and needed a good draw to get me back in the game.
Life Drawing tonight :) We had lots of warmups, and I selected a few to show of many. The forms are looking proportionate, but now I find I could use more anatomy studies. I like the improvements with facial features
The new white sharpie paint marker is fun.

 Life drawing day! Today I tried to focus on flow again, and seems to be working well but there was allot of crap. The 3 to the left are really the only ones I like of about 30 :P The ones below I used some colored paper and a white conte' for light. The fabrics really pop with this technique.

Grotesque charactures. The relation of these could be anything, but maybe the top character is one of dominance the 2nd is one of submissive and the bottom, well some kind of morbid thing  with females. Curious non?

Mondays!   Today is my life drawing session, and even better there was a new model . My style is still working on my flow, and proportions. My thoughts are to get a bigger pencil and go a little larger, on possibly a toothy manilla. Then I could detail the face better. Or ! Sometime this year I will get that ASUS tablet and go digital then all I will have to do is zoom in :)

  

building a building

 A little more progress on what is still to be named. Working title will be "Fortress" for now. The title implies that this is something military, but I'm not so sure of that direction.
The plan might be some mock-ups when I get more building block elements prepared.

Busy on my new website, but found some time for a some 1 min gestures. I like the one re-worked so I blew it up.
 Line quality has definitely improved, I know this because I was taking a look back @ some drawing from a few months ago and the lines had no quality at all.
Yes I'm getting better! :)

 Random focus today. The 30 sec all sucked so I erased most of them.
The challenge was: My new pencil vs photoshop, and In the process tune my PS brush as I worked with the conte' pencil. Trying to to hold my wacom pen the same way I hold the pencil.
They are close , and it's really hard to say which one I liked better. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods.

Today was not too eventful. All I really could focus on was some random characters from imagination, this was fun and relaxing.
The 2nd is one page from this little doodle book which I started carrying around with me, using ballpoint, pencils whatever I can get my hands on

 Yea! Back in my weekly life drawing class. New attitude, new pencil. I've even changed the way I hold my pencil. Some of the proportions are off ,but not too much, and the lines have a little more quality to them. I think everything looks messy, but more flow and they are all workable.

Quick draw up today. :) Some Bridgeman, then 30 sec gestures. I notice that I really slowed down to make sure I got the upper half better structured. Went back with the red and added the rest of the legs from imagination.
Below is the 3D model currently on the workbench. Inspired by the actual place in the refs.

 Getting back into the flow of things. I should probably open Loomis and Bridgman. Practice practice practice, gotta get the rust off. The 1 min's seem to get to messy to read , but its good to see me getting brave with thick lines.

 Hey! I'm back! 3 Weeks later after an excursion in Ramsey NJ with a certain media company doing some random 3D work. These are the sketches I did in my spare time. The break from drawing was good, switching to 3D work was refreshing. While I struggle with my drawing ability I find the 3D work easier to archive a professional level. I think in the coming days I will introduce moar of a mix between the traditional mediums and modern tools.
Observing my drawing I notice a real obsession with the head, and I have started holding the pencil differently. I feel silly for not adopting this way of holding the pencil.
