This week was mostly distractions. BUT I did find time to work on a new Low Poly Tree to add to my nature assets. This one is only 4k. I have a plan to get the polys even lower! I tried a warm color treatment on the 1st image & cool on the 2nd. |

It been a little while since my last post its been a busy month :) Top LF- "Case/ Redhead" Commercial design Along side Xeti Matebekwane. I used my new cloud and tree assets for this one, new vehicles textured and optimized too. Top RT- "Mall Compound Vancouver" Some contractual commercial, concepts of late. Massive scales and resolutions. Bttm LF- "Currency Interior Design" This is still WIP. A boutique / niche / compact store design. I will post my progress as it develops. Clouds
Working on designing some 3D clouds. These are 3D meshes filled with a volume of generated fog. Still working on the mesh part. Its a combination of poly modeling, scatter compounds, and union booleans.

New BG
I think the last time I updated my BG was in 2011. . I guess I just loved the Saw-toothed Grazer, but time has come to retire him. I used the TSX and a new camera angle. Ive included the "Grazer" and a Z-Depth layers from the post work composite, it's showing something different and giving a little insight into how I achieve atmospheric depth .

TSX Complete
Train Station X
A 5 track open air station capable of a massive rainwater collection. Designed by Xeti X Matebekwane architect and my friend. The original design was a REVIT file, and most of that was replaced with Max polys in order to be texture ready. It's finally done ! :) My entire asset library has been re-invented with this project, its been an awesome experience.

Today I modeled the greenspace for the TSX (Train Station X) .This is a shot from inside the oval tunnel, with a touch of DOF. Excellent timing for this frame, I left the stamp on if you are curious ;) It's totally animate-able at this point, as the file is 99% bug-less. Lets hope my Hard-drives survive the move tomorrow.

Train Station X is moving ahead in the new render environment. This 2000 px frame was just over 3 min, I'm quite pleased with the balance. This view is the green space which my landscape design will inhabit. Slowly applying textures.
Produced in a separate "clean file" for quick drafts and light tests.

Back from a trip to Belize and feeling great, fresh with ideas that I need to draw out, like this one. This is Train Station X greenspace concept 6c-02. Hehe mouthfull, the design process is slow but wonderful, I'm learning so much about my process. Each drawing takes about 30 to 60 mins with 2hrs to 4hrs of confidence building procrastination.

Added some grass, weeds and a little terrain. Allot of time at this stage spent on configuring settings or ordering masks, and color correcting of course. This frame took around 20 mins @ 2500 px. Close to animation ready? hmmmm.... Maybe If the lighting is set to animation.
Still lots of work to be done, but I'm happy with this. I want so much to integrate these assets, and I can feel it shall be soon :D

Trees are coming along nicely. as you can see . :) There are some other random projects I've been working on as-well. The method of late, that seems to be working is sketch 1st, 3D, 2nd. The "Cathedral" Sketches are an idea I have coming up, but the focus is the "Train Station X" which is actually coming along good.

This is the progress on the train and my new foliage set.
Getting ready for "Train Staiton X" everything is coming together nicely, but slowly. However One thing that is not slow is my newly re-developed workstation :) I have the old 4 core working with the 8 core and I'm getting great results! The GPU in the new machine is amazing, we are stepping closer and closer to the "holodeck"

SO.. After some idiot tax. $75.00 in cleaning materials.. One grain of thermal paste, not the whole tube stupid!
I somehow got my new machine working. (see left)
The new shit is on its way !! I fucking love my new machine AMD 8 processors 16 gigs of RAM 2 gig GPU = PCIE 3 with a huge amount of 1344 CUDA cores. yyyeee aaaaaaH.
Working hard on the environmental. Hoping to get out a new piece soon, these are my trees and the train for my mysterious new image ;)
